The results achieved in housing in 2009 are evidence that the sector remains dynamic and strong, and continues to generate substantial economic activity.
The demand for housing is massive. According to forecasts, over the next 20 years, the challenge for the sector will be to provide more than 11 million additional housing units, without taking into account those that must be restored because of deterioration.
Without venturing to predict that 2010 will be one of the best years for the sector, a significant improvement has been noted compared to the prospects at the start of 2009, with the strength of having weathered the hardest part of the crisis with a sector that is consolidated, coordinated, and cooperative.
It is in this context that the seventh edition of Mexican Housing Day will
be held, a place where investors and expert analysts can witness first hand
the federal government's commitment to sustaining public housing policy, the
2010 credit targets of public housing agencies and private financial
intermediaries, as well as
